NEWS AND EVENTS

Clearance Bike Sale

On Saturday June 22, between 9am-noon, Cycle Transitions will be having a clearance yard sale on bicycles, here at our location 390 King St. W. in Cobourg!

The purpose of the sale is to sell those bikes in our back stock ‘as-is’, meaning that we have not fixed or refurbished them since they have come in. We want to pass them on to other bike enthusiasts who would take them on as personal projects. They will be offered at clearance prices $10 – $50. In addition, we will be putting out some accessory bike parts alongside the bicycles.

For more information, you can contact us by phone at 289-251-8895, or by email at cycletransitions@gmail.com. Come on out and support us!

New Summer Employee at CT, Extended Summer Hours

Cycle Transitions is excited to introduce our new summer employee, Emily Washburn.  Thanks to a Canada Summer Works student employment grant, we have been able to hire Emily.  Emily, already a member of Cycle Transitions, is a student at Trent University, and lives in Cobourg.  She begins her employment next week Monday, June 3.

With the hiring of Emily, we are able to once again extend our summer hours giving you more opportunity to come in and work on your bicycle.  So, our new Summer Hours  (beginning June 3) are:

Monday to Thursday – 3pm to 8:30pm
Saturday – 9am to 2:30pm
As always, we are closed holiday weekends.

Student Summer Employment Opportunity at Cycle Transitions

Cycle Transitions is pleased to announce that it has again secured a Canada Summer Works grant for the purposes of hiring a student to work in the shop.  This is a repeat of the last three years – very successful endeavours – where our summer employee tended to the shop, assisted patrons and took care of sales. This year we will hire another student to fill that role.

This is a call for applicants; if you know of someone who could ably fill this role, please have them send their cover letter and resume to Bruce Bellaire – brucebellaire@gmail.com or Rick Nonnekes – rnonnekes@gmail.com. Our application deadline is May 21, the projected start date to be near the end of May or the beginning of June. The grant allows for 9 weeks at 30 hours per week with an hourly pay rate at $15. A copy of the job description can be found here.
