Ken Prue will be showing the highly acclaimed movie, “Bikes vs Cars” on Friday, August 13, 15, 19, 21, and 23 (time to be announced) at The Loft on Division St.
“The bicycle, an amazing tool for change. Activists and cities all over the world are moving towards a new system. But will the economic powers allow it? Bikes vs Cars, a new film project from BANANAS!* and Big Boys Gone Bananas!* director Fredrik Gertten, looks into and investigates the daily global drama in traffic around the world.” (http://www.bikes-vs-cars.com/thefilm)

Cobourg’s Active Transportation Advisory Committee with the efficient help of the Public Works department has delivered a double bike rack to Victoria Park. The bike parking is located on Queen Street, east of McGill. Citizens are encouraged to cycle to the Waterfront Festival and lock their bikes to this rack.
The Waterfront Festival runs from Canada Day – July 1 – to Saturday July 4.
Cycle Transitions will be at Canadian Tire on Saturday morning July 4th during its big cycling sale. We’ll have a table set up to distribute flyers, answer questions about our operations, sell memberships, t-shirts and ball caps, and to raise awareness of the benefits of safe cycling.
As well, Canadian Tire is donating to Cycle Transitions serviceable bicycles that are being “traded in” by customers for a new bicycle ($25 value). These bicycles will be used for our various programs in the community. Cycle Transitions thanks Canadian Tire for this generous donation!
