Community Bike Ride in Port Hope: Tues. June 4th, 6:30pm

The next Community Bike Ride is taking place in Port Hope and hosted by both the Northumberland Hills Cycling Club as well as Port Hope Bicycle. Just like in Cobourg, it’s an easy, family-oriented ride around Port Hope where members of the public are invited to join the NHCC for a group ride around town. There is no charge—all that’s required is to wear a helmet and sign a waiver prior to the ride.

Time: 6:30pm
Start Location: Port Hope Town Hall

gears-pinkJust a friendly reminder that the first of the Women’s Workshop series are ready to roll tomorrow night (Thursday, April 24, 2013) at Cycle Transitions. Start time is 7:00pm till 9:00. Spring Bicycle Donation Drive this Saturday

IMG_0822
When: Saturday, April 20 and 27, 2013
Hours: 9a.m. to 12 noon
Where: Cycle Transitions – 739 D’Arcy St., Cobourg (behind the old NuComm building)

We’ll take any bicycle as long as it has potential for refurnishing or for parts (please, no junk bikes!). We’ll refurbish the bicycle and put it up for sale at very low cost to the community, or use it for parts. Some of the bicycles will be available for our “Sweat Equity” program – individuals can receive credit by volunteering at CT and in return use that credit to build their own bicycle from our stock.
Funds generated from the sale of these bicycles or their parts will go towards the operating costs of Cycle Transitions, a non-profit, volunteer-run organization working to increase safe cycling in Northumberland County.

If you have one or more bicycles to donate, but don’t have the means to transport them to CT, give us a call (905.377.1278) or send an email info@cycletransitions.org; we’ll arrange for them to be picked up.

Cycle Transitions is a non-profit organization run by volunteers with the goal of increasing safe cycling in Northumberland County. We operate a fully equipped do-it-yourself bicycle repair shop and offer safe cycling education courses. Our operating hours are Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:30 pm to 9 pm, and Saturday morning from 9 to noon.
