NEWS AND EVENTS
We’re reverting to our usual summer hours for the month of August. Cycle Transitions will be open::
Monday and Wednesday evenings – 6:30 to 9 pm
Saturday mornings – 9:30 am to 12 noon.
Our summer employee, Skylar Dixon, will work his last day for us this summer on Saturday (July 28). He has done a fabulous job and we’ll celebrate with a little “party of sorts” at 10:30 am on Saturday. Many of you have had the chance to see Skylar in action and will no doubt agree that he has been a good fit. You’re invited to drop in, thank him and say good-bye. (He’s not going far – back to CCI for his last year of high school in September.)
Cycle Transitions has received a grant from the federal government for a summer employee again this year and we have hired Skylar Dixon for the position. With this in place, our summer hours will be:
Monday and Wednesday – 3:30 to 9 pm
Tuesday and Thursday – 3:30 to 8:30 pm
Saturday – 9 am to 2 pm.
Skylar is a student of Cobourg Collegiate Institute completing his Grade 11 year. We’re very happy to once again provide a training ground for a local student. Skylar is eager to assist you so do drop in to see him.
In addition to the extra hours we are open with Skylar in the shop, we will continue to have our regularly scheduled slate of volunteers on Monday and Wednesday evenings, Saturday mornings.
Andy Russell, a new member of CT who has just rebuilt his bike, had the bike stolen sometime overnight Saturday. If you’ve ever put a lot of effort and time into rebuilding something, you can empathize with his loss! We’re asking folks to look out for it – perhaps we can assist in getting it back for him.
Here are the particulars about the bike as Andy describes it:
“The bike is a white and grey Giant Rapid 2 (2012), 27 speed, XL frame, black rear dirt bike styled fender and no seat clamp since the seat post is seized in the seat tube. I don’t have a picture of the bike, but attached is a link showing the a bike of the same colour and model as my bike. The only noticeable difference is that the grip and bar ends on my bike were changed to the Connects Egro Max Plus Lock On styled bar ends.”
Andy’s ph# is 289.829.2770 if you see the bike around. Or call police. (Don’t try to get the bike back yourself!)
