Maintenance Workshop a Success!

Cycle Transitions’ Maintenance Workshop this past Saturday was a great success!  Ten individuals spent the morning learning about the basics of cleaning their bikes after a winter in storage, and proper maintenance practices. Thanks to Maria, Sue and Dave for leading!

The workshop went so well, and based on interest shown, CT will hold two more workshops, one each on brake and dérailleur adjustments.  Look for more information to follow!maintenance workshop2

“Donate Your Bicycle” Spring Drive: April 26th

We’ll take any bicycle as long as it has potential for refurnishing or for parts (please, no junk bikes!). We’ll refurbish the bicycle and put it up for sale at very low cost to the community, or use it for parts. Some of the bicycles will be available for our “Sweat Equity” program – individuals can receive credit by volunteering at CT and in return use that credit to build their own bicycle from our stock.

Funds generated from the sale of these bicycles or their parts will go towards the operating costs of Cycle Transitions, a non-profit, volunteer-run organization working to increase safe cycling in Northumberland County. www.cycletransitions.org

If you have one or more bicycles to donate, but don’t have the means to transport them to CT, give us a call (905.377.1278) or send an email (info@cycletransitions.org); we’ll arrange for them to be picked up.

When: Saturday, April 26, 2014
Hours: 9a.m. to 12 noon
Where: Cycle Transitions – 739 D’Arcy St., Cobourg (behind the old NuComm/Transcom building)
