NEWS AND EVENTS
Cycle Transitions has NEW Premises!!
Great news! The Town of Cobourg has agreed to lease space in the old Public Works building (390 King St W) to Cycle Transitions. The building is a 7000 square foot refurbished storage/work garage of which CT will make use of approximately 2000 square feet. We hope to move in mid-March with a re-opening to take place the first week in April.
As more details are worked out and we are able to set dates, we’ll provide you with more information including a call for volunteers to assist with moving in and setting up. We’re looking at two Saturday mornings, one for clearing space and installing partition fencing, the other for unloading the storage semi-trailer and setting up the shop.
A reminder that all memberships will resume with the re-opening.
We express our gratitude to Cobourg Council and staff for assisting and supporting us. They really stepped up and made things possible!
Come out to support CT’s request for premises
There will be a proposal made to Cobourg Town Council on Monday, February 26 (the meeting begins at 4 pm in Council chambers at Victoria Hall) which outlines provisions for leasing Cycle Transitions approximately 2,000 square feet of space in the old Public Works building on King St west. Barry Thrasher, Director of Public Works will be making the proposal. The details have come about after many consultations with Mayor Gil Brocanier, Deputy Mayor John Henderson, Chief Administrative Officer Stephen Peacock and other town staff – all of whom have been extremely supportive and helpful!
Please come out to the meeting so that we can show Council strong support for the proposal (wear your CT shirt if you have one).
If Council approves the proposal, we at Cycle Transitions expect to re-open at the beginning of April just in time for the cycling season!!

Cycle Transitions’ 5th Anniversary Pub Night
Cycle Transitions got its start five years on September 8, 2012. We’ve had a great run to this point and we’re looking forward to the next! To help celebrate, we’re inviting all past and present members as well as supporters to a “pub night” at the Cat and the Fiddle (Covert St, Cobourg) on Thursday, September 28 starting at 7 pm. Please join us, have a bite to eat and/
or something to drink, and share your stories of CT.
** Please note, food and drink will be available and can be paid with CASH ONLY (no credit or debit cards are being accepted at the Cat and the Fiddle presently). **
Where: Cat and the Fiddle
Date: Thursday, September 28
Time: 7 pm.
Thank You!
Thank you to our many volunteers who assisted us the past two Saturdays with packing up our shop and then loading it onto a semi trailer for storage.
